Finding Your Own Ingredients to the Recipe of Life

There’s going to be a few clichés in this post but the simple fact about those well used phrases is there is often truth or an important message in them. So…let’s get the first one over and done with. When life gives you lemons…make lemonade! But once you have lemons you have two choices…you can bitch that life didn’t give you sugar and water to go with it or you can go out and find sugar and water for yourself.

The only way is up…yes! Cliché number 2! When you feel at your lowest it is incredibly hard to think about the positives. On Friday last week, completely out of the blue, the company I worked for went into administration. I went into a job I love, with a company I have worked for 6 years and a few hours later I was worrying about how to pay my mortgage this month. A lot of people have given me brilliant advice and most have said to take the time to decide what to do, but in all honesty, I don’t have the financial buffer to do that. I won’t get any severance income from the government until September at the earliest. I need lemonade now!

So, yesterday I started to make some calls and go through the legal paperwork needed. I made the first step in seeking benefits…which I have not had to do in over 30 years. Then I started to make some calls to contacts I have made…people I’ve worked with and for in the past. I also contacted the administrator about purchasing a few items from my company including some data, and some other assets. This afternoon I am meeting with someone who’s last words to me on the phone yesterday were ‘I will make sure you are ok’.  I could be in the lemonade business pretty soon I hope.

The weather is so right for lemonade at the moment too!

We Love to Blog

One of the bright points of my week has been being accepted as a blogger for We Love to Blog. This is my first post for them so I sure hope they don’t mind my rambling above but it does lead me nicely into a much brighter, happier place with this awesome gacha set from Serenity Style. I’ve just moved to a new home in SL and this is the perfect set for my decking area.  This set is available at the OMG Summer Gacha event which runs from the 10th to the 31st July. There are 6 items in total in the Gacha with one rare item which is the Beach Stall behind me in the above picture. The hammock, puf and towel all have an chilled out, relaxed single animations for sunning yourself on the deck.

We Love to Blog 2

Anyone who knows me will undoubtedly know there are 2 things that are guaranteed to put a smile on my face…(apart from wine and chocolate before you all start commenting) shoes and hair!

The hair featured in my pics today are 2 of the new styles available from Tameless at the Hair Fair. The brunette style is called Uma and the Blonde is called Vida. All the styles come with colour change huds in a range of colour packs, some with streaks and roots changes to give the hair a lot of depth and options. You can tp to the Tameless store at the Hair Fair here.

Oooh and I managed to get through the post with less clichés than I expected but I am going off to find a bowl of lemons for my new SL home to remind me how to pick myself up and make changes in my life.
