I read with interest, as so many people do, Strawberry Singh’s post with some challenges and ideas for resolutions. As I have said I rarely make resolutions but I am always up for a challenge and came up with the idea for SL Calendar Girls meme to be run on my blog and on Flickr.
I see so many great photographers in Second Life posting their work on facebook and flickr and I’m a total sucker for a pin-up style or really any kind of tasteful glamour image. I wanted to use that to try a meme of sorts and I’m hoping lots of people will get involved all year.
SL Calendar Girls
I have started a group on Flickr called SL Calendar Girls and I’m urging people to add their high quality, glamourous SL photos to it over the next 12 months. They don’t have to be photos taken specifically for the SL Calendar Girls group but if you have a photo that you think fits the bill please feel free to add it to the group for consideration.
Once a month I will post a selection of my favourite photographs here on the blog and at the end of the year will choose one photograph to represent each month of the year, 12 in total.
It’s just for fun and an opportunity to show off your photography skills. It’s not an ‘award’ group, with no forced comments but I have supplied a comment code should people want to show their appreciation of anothers work.
I love seeing, and yes, learning, from other photographers so I am really hoping to see lots of great work from all the brilliant SL photographers and artists out there.

I love the idea and joined the group! Since it’s rules state that tasteful nudity is allowed though, would you consider allowing moderate pictures also? I set all my pics showing a little butt or nip to moderate because people on flickr are so fast to report!

absolutely – I’ll look at the settings in flickr. As the pics go into a queue I can review them first anyways and therefore eliminate any that don’t match the criteria. I’m looking forward to seeing your work 🙂

Nice idea Kess. I’d love to see someone create a non-gendered version as well. 🙂
