Freak Out

Well this week has not gone to plan at all!

Off I toodled to bed on Tuesday night, happy as Larry (though who Larry is and why he’s so happy I’ve no idea). Anyhoo, turned off computer, went to bed, slept soundly, though not for long enough as usual. Life is often much scarier than dreams because when I woke up, I switched on the computer to do a little sl work before heading to rl work and it bleeped, computeristically farted at me and uttered it’s last binary breath. Dead…The End…computer no more!

Now, I probably could send it off to get looked at, it’s may well be fixable but time is something I don’t have a whole heap of so I had to find another solution and fast. So off I went to the store to buy a new computer and luckily found one to a spec I was very happy with. Which is great, BUT,  like my friend Grace, it’s a big but, I have zero of anything on the new computer..I’m a DJ with no music, a photographer with no photos or editing software, a Second Lifer with no viewer! First up I installed Google Chrome – cos no one ain’t got time for that Microsoft Edge shit, or whatever they are calling it this week. Then Second Life….I never realised how much I have tweaked SL to my way of liking it over the years and always used the backup to keep my settings how I wanted them. It took several, excrutiating hours to get SL back on point and thanks to the Windlight downloads page at the Blogger and Vlogger Network I was able to grab all my windlights again quite easily.

Anyways enough of my moaning and groaning. I still haven’t even started on music so won’t be dj’g for a while but no ones going to miss that much. I took this photo on Tuesday on the old, now deceased, PC and I’m actually looking forward to doing some new ones as the graphics card on the new one is much better! But generally the moral of my tale of woe today is BACK UP people! I had some stuff backed up to the cloud but a lot of things I’m finding vital I did not have. Seriously, do it asap and do it regularly. It will save you so much time in the future if you have a major computer failure.
