Mainstore Monday – Spruce

I had quite the buzz when I saw that Second Life had officially shared the info about Mainstore Monday and I am hopeful that will see more bloggers jump on the mainstore train.

Hopefully you all now know about Flagship Week. Flagship Week is running from 18th Jan til the 25th Jan with a whole host of stores and creators commiting to releasing a full price new release directly into their mainstore locations. If you want to know more I have all the info for you in less than 5 mins in a short video I made.

The store I am showcasing today, Spruce, is one of the brilliant brands taking part in Flagship too!

Spruce is the creation of Harlow Heslop who has been a long time Second Life resident and had multiple successful projects over the years including The Burrow, Salt and Siren. An accomplished landscaper, region owners, influencer and more. I have known Harlow a long time as our circle of close friends overlaps in several places.

A few years ago Harlow started Spruce as a decor brand selling beautifully created small items often with a celestial or nature based theme. In all this time I had never actually visited her mainstore location. I often saw her items on social media or in events but never went to the store and this is the exact reason I am so excited about Flagship. Creators are pouring their aesthetic and love into their locations and we are missing out on them. Flagship aims to change that!

So off I toddled yesterday morning to go check it out

My first impression on teleporting into store was how spacious it was so there was plenty of room to cam around . I also appreciated the signposting of where to find items, the clear indicators for information and well laid out reception/entry room. I also loved the environment settings and with local lights on the lighting was totally on point too.

To the right of the reception desk as you look at it there is a Redelivery terminal and a link to the social media for the brand. To the left is a group join sign and a subscriber point for people who don’t want to use a group space but do want to find out the latest news from Spruce. There is a nominal charge of 75L to join the group and in return you get 10% of all purchases, an additional 5% store credit and you can immediately pick up an array of group gifts, which are displayed on the wall to the right of the reception desk.

The displays of items for sale are beautiful with each one have a description and background of the item listed next to them. It’s a really nice touch and I think helps with the immersion into the store browsing experience and into the investment in purchasing the item.

As you can see the lighting enhances the displays and gives a beautiful aesthetic of calm and peace.

As I mentioned above Spruce are part of Flagship Week. Harlow has been vocal about some of her loves on social media in the past. I think almost everyone who knows her, even just in passing, knows of her love for Taylor Swift and animals! Her release for Flagship is the Alison Prints Collection described as “a must-have for all Swifties”,  Each print displays a lyric from a Taylor Swift song and they are most definitely beautifully displayed. Be aware though these are PBR texture only.
