Sending Love & Light…and L$

I’ve had my share of rl issues in the last couple of weeks but they fade into insignificance in comparison to Lexi Zelin’s. My friend Sady has said to me nearly every day ‘sending love and light your way’ and I was totally inspired by that. It’s a saying I’d heard before but never really paid much attention to. This week I’ve really thought about what that means and how special it is for someone to do that. It’s a deeply spiritual phrase and warms the heart and soul to know that someone is thinking and ‘praying’ for you to whatever power they believe in.

I wrote a few days ago about how Lexi, who’s 28 and has just been diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Lexi is not only well-known in SL but an extremely popular designer and creator and though I don’t know her personally, I can see by the comments of her friends that she is one of the genuine people in SL. The details of what is happening to Lexi (rl name Heather) can be found on her gofundme page.

Lexi’s friends have been stunned by what has happened and her revelation but instead of wallowing in the sadness of the situation they have picked up the mantle to help her and are organising an event called The Lexi Project to raise funds for her treatment.

The land for the event is being donated by the brilliant team at Depraved Nation and I am sure hundreds of designers will be dropping everything they had planned to take part in this unique fundraiser. If you ever looked back at items you have bought in your inventory and thought ‘what a waste’ then this is a chance to know that the item you have purchased has made a real difference. Not only to Lexi but to her gorgeous 6 year old daughter.

The event opens on the 26th July so tuck a few L$ away to support this cause when it opens.

Designers are already producing their items and I was lucky enough to receive the outfit I am wearing from  {POSH PIXELS}. It’s called Moondancer and comes with the wings, dress, ferronier and laced leg slippers. This item will be on sale with 100% of the proceeds going to the The Lexi Project fund. I’m totally in a mothering mood after the situation with my daughter and now with Lexi who is young enough to be my daughter and so I’m taking care of this cute lil long dragon from .{PSYCHO:Byts} which is available at the Manga Fair

So, I’m sending love and light to you all today whatever issues you face in real life or in SL. I thank Sady for the love and light she has empowered me with and I pray for good things for Lexi and her family.
