I cannot believe another Monday is here and almost gone in the UK! Every Monday I visit two mainstores as part of my Mainstore Monday feature. I implore other bloggers to try this out. Not only do you find some awesome items, places for photographs but you may just find a store that you would like to blog for. Mainstore Monday attempts to redress the balance between mainstore shopping and event shopping. I do not hate events…I love them but I also love a great mainstore! I’ve found two great ones this week too!
My first store this week was C’est La Vie. I’ve seen this store in a number of events and to be honest, that’s how I usually find the mainstores I visit. I’d never visited the mainstore until last weeks Fifty Linden Friday and as soon as I landed I knew I had to feature this fabulous store in Mainstore Monday. When I decide on the stores for Mainstore Monday it’s not just about what is inside the store. I want a shopping experience in SL from the second I land at the tp point. I particularly look at the area around the store and how photogenic it is and how much thought has gone into the feel of the store and not just how much thought has gone into selling me stuff! C’est La Vie has taken all this into consideration with a dazzling outside area including props for photographs including the bicycle featured in the first picture. I was disappointed though that scripts were off on the parcel which meant that I couldn’t use some photo props that attach and script a pose that I wanted to use. All in all that was a minor irritation considering what awaited inside the store.
As most stores do these days the event items were at the front of the store with helpful lm’s and information to the current events that the store was taking part in. C’est la Vie isn’t just a clothes store it also offers a range of accessories and items to complete a look and a brief look at the current events shows that with items ranging from hats to dresses to handbags. It’s one of those stores that puts a modern day spin on vintage and classic and I suggest you always try the demo’s of their items to understand the look on your avatar. There were items that I tried that I didn’t think would suit my avatar but once I tried them on they looked amazing. While not promoting that the items fit a maitreya lara all the items I tried worked perfectly with my avatar via the standard Lara hud without any changes to my avatar.
I adore the open nature of the store and I could have spent way too much money on tops and dresses. I’d like to see more pants and skirts from the store to mix and match more but I am sure that will come eventually. Overall the store is well laid out, cute and whimsical with a flavour of vintage, classic style. Price wise the old adage applies, you get what you pay for and this is quality mesh as a reasonable price. Check them out for yourself here C’est La Vie
My second store visit of the day was decided over a week ago when I visited The Gacha Garden and nearly went broke on their gacha machine!!!
Astralia was a new name to me when I stumbled across their gacha machine and fed it til I felt my unemployed soul leaving me, jumping onto my shoulder and slapping me stupid. I decided I had to find out what was on offer at their mainstore. I am a sucker for head pieces, jewelry and accessories and always look out for the best and so I was delighted with this store. If i hadn’t dropped enough L$ in that damn gacha I was about to drop some more at the mainstore!
Again, the store has new items at the front of store and includes the events that they are currently taking place in. There’s also a small gacha collection of items. It’s a much smaller store than C’est La Vie but easily camable and walk aroundable. The store itself is a Scarlet Creative build so looks fabulous from the onset. These kind of accessories always finish off a look perfectly and these are very affordable, beautiful, original mesh creations and well worth the visit to the mainstore.
Please do stop in at both stores for clothes, accessories and more. I will bring you another Mainstore Monday next week. Have a wonderful week shopping!
