Bright Lights

I was so glad my colleague couldn’t see me when she called me yesterday to tell me that she had just been offered another job. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders and a huge grin spread across my face. Don’t get me wrong she’s a lovely person but she doesn’t fit the team and after more than 6 months in the role has never really got up to speed. Well, she’s got up to her speed but unfortunately it’s nowhere near the pace she needs to be working at to be effective. When she does work faster she makes mistakes and errors and that means a lot of cleaning up and correcting behind her by myself and my colleague. I was joking with the IT guy that I think maybe a good interview test would be to make someone play an MMO to see who quickly they pick things up and how accurate they can be. After all, gamers spend their entire gaming time trying to get faster without losing accuracy. I’m not sure my employers would go for that as part of the induction or training programme though.

Although there was a part of me that felt quite mean for being so happy at her news from a totally selfish point of view I do think she will be happier. It’s an internal move and she will no longer have to work within a team and will have a set task list to complete each day and that will suit her much better than the current role where we have to spin plates all day and just when you get them all going someone throws another set of crockery at you! So, I probably shouldn’t feel like I’m being mean because all round everyone will be happier. It does mean a few more changes in my role at work and I’m fine with that. I enjoy a challenge and like change to keep things fresh.

I mentioned briefly yesterday the new Blogger & Vlogger Network that I have been working on for a while now with my wonderful colleagues from Spotlight Magazine, Trouble Dethly and Delicate Flower. BVN is a new support, education and networking resource for bloggers, vloggers and photographers in Second Life with a website packed full of useful tutorials and articles and a programme of live events including talks and panel discussions for designers and bloggers. Check out the website and suggest anything you would like to see and join the group in world to keep up to the date with the schedule of events and network with other like-minded bloggers and vloggers. I personally am very interested in learning more about vlogging so I am very much looking forward to Cassie Middles talk on transitioning to vlogging in a couple of weeks time.

About the Stuff:

RealEvil have two new releases at Whore Couture Fair which opened a few days ago. The sexy and practical Jassy corset gloves come in two fits, Slink Casual and Maitreya Lara. The gloves have two ‘leather’ areas that can be mixed and matched via hud in 20 different colours and tones as well as 6 different metal options.  Also available at the same event are the Jassy boots which are high, platform style boots with 4 diferent leather texture areas to combine together from the 20 different colour options. The options for both of these items are almost limitless and as these boots are for mid foot shapes they have a feel of being far more ‘practical’ and casual to wear.

The United Colors Candice skirt and bodysuit is available from Kinky Event and comes in fits for Belleza Freya and Isis, Slink Hourglass and Original and Maitreya Lara (worn).  The outfit comes in two pieces, the corset and the lattice skirt and the colours can be changed on them independently as well as the metal tones.
