I am super lucky where I live in real life. Although I’m a townie I live on the very edge of the town…if I walk to my left I go deeper into housing estates and towards the town centre…but 5 minutes walk to my right and I’m in a country lane with farms either side of the lane. My Grandmother who lived most of her life in central London used to comment on this a lot when she visited when I was younger. I never really appreciated then what she meant, but I certainly do now. It’s a total escape. In a short few minutes, the noise of traffic is replaced with the sound of birds, insects and maybe some background noise from a farm vehicle. Look out of my bedroom window to the left I see a busy intersection/roundabout and look to the right and I can see the farmhouse on the hill. Even writing this I’m appreciating how lucky I am.
