“What others think of you is none of your business”
I don’t remember the first time I heard this quote. I think it was when I was a young adult. I’ve done some brief searching this morning to source the quote but it’s been attributed to many different people over the years it’s almost impossible to know who said it first.
It’s a lot easier not hear what people think of you, or say about you when you’re not there in RL than it is in an online community. Most people don’t care what people they don’t like think of them anyways but when it’s someone they considered a friend that’s when it stings more. A mutual friend told me something a couple of weeks ago that was said about me. To be fair the mutual friend thought I didn’t really talk to the other person much anymore and I never let on how much the comment had stung because I still considered that person a friend. I wondered why that friend had never told me that they felt that way and I also wondered how many other people they expressed the same opinion to.
So sometimes you find out these comments because an unwitting third party lets slip something. Sometimes you find out what someone really thinks of you from a slip of the tongue during conversation and sometimes you find out during a heated discussion or disagreement. They all leave bruises on the psyche and if you’re an over thinker like me then they are likely to affect the relationships with those people in unseen ways for some time to come.

That’s one of my favorite quotes. And Kess, my darling, whoever said such things, well….they cannot possibly know you the way I do. Yes, you are a pain in my butt sometimes, but I would seriously miss you if you weren’t there. Here’s another quote for you, “Those that matter won’t mind, and those that mind, don’t matter.”
I recently found out that someone I considered a friend has been raging about me behind my back. From what I’ve gathered, none of it makes much sense and I’ve yet to know what I did to deserve it. Sometimes, people are just so miserable with themselves, they cannot stand to see the success and happiness of others. That’s the only explanation I can come up with and even that doesn’t make a lot of since. I love you, so try not to let the jealous people get to you, Gorgeous♥

I know how that feels. It hurts when you find out, especially when you think you’re close to them. It’s worse when you find out that the “friend” was using you all along…Stay you…stay amazing! ❤
