Forgotten Fun

You’d think that the older we get the less risk averse but that’s not the case. When I was a kid I’d be the first in line at the amusement parks for the biggest, tallest rollercoasters and the scariest, most gut-churning rides. It has been a while since I went to an amusement park in real life, now the kids have grown up and have yet to provide the required grandchildren to take to them. I first noticed a limit to my zest for fear was waning was on a holiday to Florida when I flat out refused to go anywhere near The Hulk rollercoaster at Universal Studios. There were a couple of other rides that I took one look at and decided ‘nuh-uh, no way’ and I had never been like that before. The scarier the better had been my motto in the past when it came to theme parks. I’m thinking maybe next summer I should visit one and see if the fear is better or worse than it was back then.
