It’s Soppy Sunday!

This post is dedicated to the person that lights up every single day for me with his unwavering support. 11 days ago I gave up smoking…I had been planning it in secret for a while. Testing vapes and alternatives until I found something I was very comfortable with. As soon as I told Mr Smith of my plans he reassured me that he would be doing everything he can to help and support and he’s been so true to that word. Checking in on me…noticing tiny mood changes and making sure I was ok. Distracting me when I needed it but making sure he’s not mentioning it all the time. He really is the perfect partner when it comes to looking after me and making sure I’m doing ok. It was his support doing a very scary weekend when my Grandson was born in September that made me realise what a caring individual he was. Yesterday was a bit of a crisis day…the first day I really struggled with giving up and I’m pretty sure I would be back to smoking again now if he hadn’t been there when I needed.

Letting someone look after me wasn’t easy. I’ve been independent since childhood and never completely relied on anyone for emotional support…not 100% anyways. It’s one of the many things that I love about him that I’m able to let myself be open to that kind of love now. I’m a very lucky lady.
