Life can be hard…sometimes it’s a few bumps on the path and sometimes it’s really major roadblocks that make you stop and assess what is going on, who you are and what you believe in. We’re built to deal with the bumps without thinking about them too much…unless there are suddenly lots of bumps and the journey becomes too hard and then we need to change our footwear to suit the conditions and press on. The roadblocks are even more challenging. We stop, take stock and look for solutions…go round it. over it or knock it down and continue on our way. None of them are quick fixes and we may have to make a few changes to ourselves along the way to adapt to our new surroundings.
During these journeys though it’s important to take some time to notice the good things that are happening around us that show us a little light. Those hidden gems that we might miss if we don’t look for them closely enough. It could be a small comment or form of appreciation from someone that was unexpected. It could be a new friend that comes into your life and gives you a different perspective…or someone you have known a while that you find a new depth of friendship with.
My friend Sady has had one such ray of light in her life in the midst of some very personal health and relationship issues. Over the last year or so she’s been working extremely hard on her art and photography in Second Life. She’s found it a great outlet to express her thoughts and feelings in some of her darkest times and now that is being rewarded. Her work as been selected to appear in the Gods and Monsters Art Show at Transylvania which opens today at 8pm slt. I’m extremely happy for her as I know that is going to be one of those shining light moments for her when her road has lately been full of boulders and roadblocks that many of us would have just crumbled under. There will be a number of fabulous artists on show and it’s a perfect theme for this time of year so please take some time out to visit and support the artists and region. My personal highlight of the week is the moment I’ve been waiting for….Lara Hurley Catwa appliers. I love how different the Catwa head looks with different skins. I don’t feel like a clone and as always Lara has done a stunning job with lots of lips and make up options. Now I’m all dressed up for Autumn and I’m adapting my sim and home to a more autumnal look too and found the perfect items from unKindness (picture 1) that were the basis for the outside area of my home. I love these decor ‘Forgotten Summer Boats’ which are available at the LTD Event and matched those up with the Country Fence, also from unKindness that is available at The Seasons Story. There’s also an added extra from unKindness at TSS to celebrate their anniversary with a rustic tub of pillows that I’ve popped on my porch for now.
