It’s the Clash of the Seasonal Titans! In the Orange corner we have Autumn, weighing in at a windy couple of months. Wearing Oranges, browns, muted greens, tans, and neutrals. He’s a good looking chap for sure! In the Red corner we have Christmas! Weighing in at a measly ‘week’ but spreading out into a couple of months and wearing pillar box red and a colour that is apparently officially known as ‘christmas green’. These two seasonal heavyweights will be doing battle daily and we all know that Christmas will win eventually but I’m in the orange corner, cheering and supporting and I won’t be throwing in the towel for a while yet!
I got thinking of this subject yesterday, after spending several of the wee small hours in ER with my youngest daughter (again! yes, it’s an ongoing story and I’ll share more later…she’s fine and home now). The Costa Coffee shop opened at 7am and her boyfriend and me were first in the queue for a shot or two to help with the lack of sleep. Costa had launched it’s Christmas product range and packaging and I was delighted to see them (smartly in my opinion) mixing the two seasons. The cup i had featured a penguin (winter!) with an orange and black scarf (autumn/halloween). The cup still looked christmassy but there wasn’t a hint of red or green! I just adore the colour palette of Fall and I for one will be holding on to Autumn’s ankles as he tries to leave the building crying and shouting ‘please don’t go!’
