No Time for Fairweather Friends

I adore my close girl friends circle. Now, I’ve been in SL a long time…coming up on 10 years in November and SL friendships have come and gone for lots of different reasons. My close friends circle have all been round the block a few times too….none of us are newbies when it comes to SL that is for sure.  All of us agree on one thing…we’ve never encountered a friend group like it in all our time in SL.  So, what makes it work? We’ve all known each other differing amounts of time….although I have known Tracy and Grace for around 5 years we’ve not gelled into this close friends unit alongside Sady until the last 12 months or so.  The success of the group I believe lies in the simple fact that we have just the right mix of similarities and differences. Sometimes it’s easy to find yourselves friends that you are completely the same as and, in the past, when I’ve had that kind of bond, inevitably the fact that you’re too alike becomes an issue. Balance is the key.

We also don’t compete with each other. We’re all interested in different things and have different skill sets and therefore instead of striving to ‘beat’ each other we’re always supportive of each others achievements. We are also fierce champions of each of ours right to make our own mistakes and decisions. We don’t judge…we never judge. (I can hear Tracy in my head right now saying “Hey! Don’t judge me!”). Lastly we’re honest…sometimes brutally but always with love and the best interests of the other at the heart of it.

So, this is my way of saying, I love you ladies. Don’t ever change.
