Henry Ford’s phrase “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you‘re right.” has been at the top of my mind this morning as I watch the overnight news from the Rio Paralympics. Dame Sarah Storey becomes the first female British paralympian to win 12 gold medals as Team GB have a cracker of an opening day with 11 medals in total and 5 golds.
The successes and determination shown by Paralympians, of whatever nationality, was in sharp contrast with a conversation I had this morning about success and achieving goals in SL. I don’t have a lot of patience with negativity generally and I can usually find the positive in most situations. I really struggle to relate to people who constantly have a little black cloud following them as they trudge around wearing their ‘The End of the World is Nigh’ T-shirts with pride. How do they cope with being so utterly bloody miserable?
We all have knock backs in life but the people I admire the most are those that don’t give up and just accept that fate. People who keep trying, keep striving to get better, who keep improving, those are the people that I can look up to and even if they still don’t succeed they will have my utmost respect.
About the Stuff:
I visited the new event Limit8 yesterday and was pretty surprised to get in first time! Of course when I looked at the sim I saw why – 100 avatar limit! I derender everyone the minute I land and didn’t have any lag issues at all. It sits perfectly on my new hair from Exile – Southern Shade which was released yesterday at C88.
