I Know Him So Well

I joked about using this title as one of the most well known songs from the Tim Rice musical Chess while I was taking this photograph.  Tim Rice was a very well known lyricist having worked on many hit musicals with Andrew Lloyd Webber but completed Chess, a cold war themed musical play, with Benny and Bjorn from ABBA.

I Know Him So Well was a massive hit in the UK sung by Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson. While neither myself or Elvi look much like either of those women the poses we chose reminded me of the video.

Aside from that reminder, I also recalled that as a child I had been taught how to play Chess at school, and also by my father, who had a set at home and was keen for me to learn.  Unlike riding a bike, apparently, you can completely forget how to play Chess!  I had literally no idea what to do when asked to play a game on this playable garden size chess game from Apple Fall.  I’m not completely convinced I could still ride a bike either…I’ve not tried for years but I’m pretty sure I would pick it back up a lot quicker than I found I could remember the rules of Chess.

It got me thinking about the other things I could do with ease as a child that I’m confident I’ve completely lost the ability to do as an adult…handstands…cartwheels…hula hoop…and yoyo, are just a few that sprung to mind. What about you? What things could you do years ago that you have forgotten or just need to re-learn?

About the Stuff:

Events! Events! Events! It’s all been about events so far this month and it seems to be continuing in the latter half of the month too. Collabor88 opened a few days ago and Cynful was one of the show stealers with a beautiful maxi dress release with matching necklace. You really are spoilt for choice with Cynful when it comes to colour options with 20 solid and ombre colour options and 7 special fatpack options there’s a version for every occasion. I’m wearing the Maitreya fit which, as always, fits to perfection…and trust me I tested this with lots of dancing and partying! There are also fits for Belleza Freya and Isis, Slink Hourglass and Original. The Belleza fits comes in two options regular and ‘perky’.

The Necklace is a back drop jeweled necklace that flatters the dress and draws the eye down toward the ruched details around the bottom area of the dress. It also comes with a colour hud to enable changes to the metal textures and the gem options…again with lots of options to match the dress.

I have to give some credit to Elvi too for helping me with the scene, as well as posing for the photograph.  When I say ‘helping’, I mean really pretty much putting together the whole scene around my chess set! It’s part of my ‘Make Elvi Decorate Again’ campaign. (Psst…it seems to be working!)

I do have to point out the gorgeous new hair I’m wearing from Exile because it’s NOT at an event and is in fact a brand new mainstore release! If you haven’t checked out the new, re-designed, Exile mainstore it’s well worth a visit and there’s also some fab group gifts to pick up too!

  1. *laughs* I used to play chess, too, was in the school team for it – but I’m darned if I can remember much about it now. Checkers are no problem lol.
