First Rule

Happy Monday everyone! So, Indie Teepee started on Friday and I’m going to be covering a lot more about that and items from Indie over the next couple of weeks I’m sure. As a music lover what I have enjoyed so far is the range and eclectic offerings we have from the DJs at Indie…and we’re only three days in. I’m pretty sure we’ve already has some of nearly every genre possible from DnB to House, Indie (of course) to hard rockin.

It was while I was at one of the rock sets on Saturday that  a friend popped in my IM to ask about my daughter and as I’ve not done an update for a while I thought I should. After all, I’ve talked a lost in the last couple of years about the rushes to hospital in the middle of the night and that gut wrenching day we got her diagnosis,  which started with ‘oh it’s an appendicitis’ to ‘we have a shadow on the scan that could be a tumour’ to the final diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease.

In May she underwent surgery to have part of her bowel removed. It was a major surgery with lots of risks associated with it and I can say now that she is so much better. She’s not had any flares since the surgery, she’s fit and well and back to her job and doing everything she was doing before as normal. The operation isn’t a cure…there isn’t a cure yet for Crohn’s but it has relieved her symptoms to the point where she can start to think about restricting herself less moving forward.

Thank you everyone who has asked and touched base on how she’s doing, it really does mean a lot. Luckily she’s quite the fighter.
