Good Girls Go Bad

Sunday morning and I’m a little unsure about what I will talk about. Sometimes I just put my fingers on the home keys of my keyboard and see what comes out. I’m watching the news from the US about the sad passing of Sen John McCain. I’m an avid follower of US politics, having studied the subject many years ago as part of a degree course, and well, there’s been plenty to watch and follow over the last couple of years. It’s a sad day with his passing and watching the coverage of his life on the TV this morning it’s a reminder of how extraordinary he was in comparison to many of today’s politicians.

I also wanted to note that today is the birthday of a fellow blogger and friend that I respect and adore. I’ve written before about bloggers supporting other bloggers and those that know me or follow my blog know that this is something I encourage. I’ve never found the blogging world, or my circle within that world, bitchy or competitive. I’ve always encouraged and supported others and I have found the same from them. I know some extraordinary people through blogging and EXIS is one of them. Several months ago she pushed me to put my name forward to blog The Arcade and just last week I received an invitation to do just that. It’s a landmark for me as a blogger and I would never have had the courage to put myself forward for it without the strength I gained from her inspiring and emboldening me to take that step.  She’s an amazing person and an incredible blogger so if you see her today wish her a very happy birthday.
