Well, it’s certainly not been a secret what I was doing over the weekend!
It was the 3rd Annual Bloggies Awards recognising the creme de la creme of bloggers, vloggers and photographers that bring our SL world to life.
I’m in awe of so many of the talents that were nominated and received and awards and seeing so many of them in one place was truly magical.
Now, that said it’s also one of the most stressful days of my year. People think there is a whole team of people behind the scenes doing this and that and the truth is it’s just me and Trouble Dethly. From preparing the documents, sending out the forms, promoting the nominations, updating the website, creating the venue, creating the trophies, writing the scripts, hiring the perfomers, stage managing the event on the day, preparing and sending out the prize packs and trophies…it’s all just me and Trouble. I think the learning from this year is that is now becoming too big to do alone and we really are going to have to bring some people on board next year to help with this.
This year was particularly challenging after the loss of Autumn Rose, a prolific, well-loved blogger and Trouble’s partner and we arranged for a special tribute to happen at the event as a memorial to Autumn. I said a few words which I tried to keep unemotional but as some that know me best heard, my voice cracked for a second.
Obviously I had early access to the venue and was able to get over early enough to take a photo with Mr M…well, he took the photo to be honest because by 6pm on Saturday I still hadn’t eaten all day and he insisted I eat. I love the photo he took as it completely captures the essence of the pre-event excitement.
I am so grateful for his support on Saturday. I didn’t have to worry that I wasn’t talking to him enough as I rushed around getting things done. When I was about ready to cry and throw my hands in the air with 20 mins to go from the start he calmed me down and reassured me that I was doing ok and everything would be fine. He gave sage advice and lightened my stress with humour.
He’s recently started blogging himself and is doing an amazing job with The SL Spoon and I’m sure he’s going to be one to watch in a few of next year’s categories.
A full list of winners and runners up is available at the BVN Website.
Anyways, I slipped back to the venue on Sunday morning to take this shot featuring the gorgeous new gown release from Dead Dollz. I really adore this classic gown that you can dress up or keep simple. I added a little glitter from Cole’s Corner and a couple of ‘Bloggies’ for show!

It was such a wonderful event. Everything ran smoothly. And the tribute to Autumn…words cannot express the beauty, charm, grace and how perfect that song was. However, no one should be alone to create such an event. Please consider me in the future if you require any assistance!
