Keeping Schtum

My parental unit visited twice last week…for the first time in nearly 2 years due to lockdowns etc. To say it was stressful was an understatement. My father and I are chalk and cheese on almost every issue known to man. My lip is sore from biting it because I didn’t want 3 whole days of arguing and I did everything I could to avoid any conversation that would move south. I didn’t put the news on because he sits and shouts at the TV. I didn’t put the radio station on that I normally listen to because he’d end up shouting at that. Even talk of football started to veer off when he brought Gary Linekar into the conversation and claimed “I used to like him til I found out he was a remainer”. My Dad knows I was a remainer too, in fact I’d support any party that stood on a Rejoin EU platform. I work in the NHS….there aren’t too many employees of the National Health Service who think the NHS is safest in the hands of any small c conservatives.

Anyways, it’s dangerous to talk politics but I had to vent a bit after biting my tongue for so long this week. Let’s talk instead about how much I am loving this new release from DOUX. It’s a stunning style with or without the bandana but I really do think it makes the style unique and visually stunning. I’ve been playing around with some items from stores I don’t regularly shop at as I feel like half of the rut I got myself into with avatar photos was down to not experimenting with items from creators and designers I hadn’t tried before. That’s one of the reasons I love the idea behind Evolve. I’ve found so many new-to-me stores to try out and to challenge myself with.
