One of my absolute favourite songs is How to Save a Life by The Fray. Back when the song came out I wasn’t watching Grey’s Anatomy but a few years ago I binge watched all the previous seasons and have been an avid fan of Grey’s since. Grey’s could be lauded as the reason The Fray song came to public prominence and it’s been used in several episodes over the years.
When I joined Second Life in 2006 I made a friend who was a trance DJ in various clubs around Second Life. I like all kinds of music…really…even some country, but I can’t say that I would normally go out of my way to listen to trance, unless in a particular mood. My friend was always asking me to go to the DJ sets and sometimes I would…and not always listen…or listen to my own music. One day my friend asked me in IM if I was listening and, due to the fact I can’t lie for shit. I told him I was not. He told me to put the stream on, which I did. The next song I heard was How To Save a Life…not even a dance version….just the regular version. I remember being quite shocked as the club was packed (as clubs were back in the day) and I was fairly confident that these avid trance music fans hadn’t gone to this particular club to hear The Fray.
