Back in the day I knew someone in SL who named their avatar Poise. One day we were talking about names and I commented how the name suited her because she always seemed self-assure and carried herself well in her interactions with people. The more I thought about it the more I liked the word…Poise. It makes me think, calm, composed…graceful and having a touch of class. It’s a goal I try to attain in my interactions with people. I don’t always achieve it. I have my moody, irritable and grumpy days too.
About 15 years ago I remember being asked at rl work to have a new starter shadow me for the day. She was with me for all of an hour when she said “You don’t suffer fools gladly do you?”. She was right. I don’t. But, with age, comes wisdom and the knowledge that a fool doesn’t need my help to show themselves. I just need to be poised.
