A couple of weeks ago I got a facebook message from my bestie Tackett “OMG! ME AND JULIO DOWN BY THE SCHOOLYARD MENTIONS THE QUEEN OF CORONA”
Both of us bust up laughing. “Paul Simon wrote a song about meeeeeeeeeeee” I replied.
I met Tackett in SL in 2012 and we clicked instantly and over the last 4 years there’s been tears, tantrums, marathon mmo gaming sessions and more conversations about runny eggs and banoffee pies than you could shake a stick at. In late 2014 I travelled to Boston to meet him in person and we spent 3 fun days, along with another SL friend, touring the sights of Boston, following the Freedom Trail and drinking Sam Adams from a bar under the stands at Fenway Park. On my last night in Boston we visited a bar and were befriended by a local lady, who while a little worse for wear, was great fun. Everyone has a good time teasing me about my accent (flipping cheek….have these people in Bawstin never heard themselves speak???) and my friends kept referring to me as the Queen of England. To cut a long story short between them they fashioned a crown for me out of an empty Corona beer box and made me wear it for the rest of the evening and I was therefore dubbed The Queen of Corona. Before I left they all signed it with well wishes and I still have it together with many other mementos of a wonderful holiday.
About the Stuff
When I saw the Come Soon pose with the Corona bottles at N21 I immediately IM’d Tackett on skype and told him ‘WE HAVE TO DO THIS PIC!’ Being the 4th July he had a day off work and it was the perfect opportunity to lark about. He was very good humoured even though I had driven his new Supernatural Impala into the swimming pool. The *katat0nik* pool toys had fun in the background though.
