Turn That Frown Upside Down

reverie arcade_004

I’m having a bit of a sad day today…not because of anything personal but because of the constant reminders all around in the mainstream media and social media of just how horrid people can be these days. Humanity? That’s a joke right now. I was listening to a phone in at work today about the French suggestion that the border with the UK be moved to British soil…who could blame them with the issues the area known as the ‘Jungle’ at Calais is causing. What saddened me is the language used by the people that called in. They talked about immigrants as if they were animals or aliens not human beings. I’m not naive. I know that as a small island we have limits and need to control our borders so that we can manage but I also know that we need economic migrants to our country too. I work in the NHS and trust me we need trained nurses from wherever they are from! But, the people that called this phone in are so embittered and brainwashed by the right wing rhetoric they seem to have lost touch with their humanity. Their argument that we’re losing the British identity by accepting immigration is ridiculous to me. For me being British is about being a part of one of the most generous, straight-thinking, non-insular and inclusive, modern cultures in the western hemisphere and I will fight against the idea that being British will ever be about being part of a bitter, angry mob of borderline racists and bigots who have forgotten their humanity.

About the Stuff:

Not my original planned subject for todays blog especially as I have such pretty things to show you! The Arcade Gacha opens for the September round on the 1st September and Reverie has a drop-dead gorgeous set for the ladies. Called Glasswings, it’s a mix of beautiful butterfly accessories, clothing and shoes in two colour options, Blue Dream and Monarch.

The dress is the RARE and comes in Physique, Hourglass and Maitreya versions and it’s simply sublime as you can see from the feature picture but what I love most are the accessories and the smallest of touches that perfectly complete the look like the hand attachment and stunning open toe stiletto shoes. I wanted to share some of the description of the items from the creators because, as you can tell, this set really means something to them and you can see the love for the subject in every item.

We are proud to present to you guys our newest release for the Arcade, the ‘Glasswings’ collection.

This set has a somewhat special meaning to us because of our love for butterflies and the symbolic meaning they carry.

The butterfly is a symbol of powerful transformations ie. the ability to move from one state, perspective or lifestyle to another.

In Japan the butterfly represents ritual dance, femininity and grace but is also connected with tragic love as seen in the classic opera ‘Madame Butterfly’.

In Greek mythology, Psyche (soul) is represented in the form of a girl with butterfly wings. Psyche and Eros (the god of love) shared an endlessly passionate bond.

We hope you guys like it as much as we loved making it for you.

Lastly here is the Gacha key so that you can see the full set:
