I have always loved taking photos in Second Life long before I was a blogger. Photography always came first and taking photos out in the ‘wilds’ of SL which is why you very rarely see a ‘studio’ shot from me in my blogs. I enjoy finding sims and places to pose and take photographs, then spending countless hours choosing windlights and poses and messing with depth of field and shadows.
The exploration of SL and finding sims came almost on day one for me when a friend started taking me to incredible sims from sci-fi like futuristic places to romantic picnic spots. It had long been a dream of mine to own a sim and produce something for others to enjoy as much as I did. That dream came true a couple of years ago but due to some unfortunate circumstances it didn’t last as long as I would have hoped.
My bestie Tackett and I have been talking about having a sim for a few months again and anyone who knows me knows there’s is nothing I like more than a good project to sink y teeth into. Finally last week we bit the bullet and bought a sim! Ideas raced through my mind of what it could have but if there is one skill in SL that I know I will never possess it’s the ability to terraform or landscape. I have thought there should be a way of banning myself from ever having access to that little bulldozer to edit terrain because nothing good is ever going to come from me using it. I remember one incident several years ago when I attempted to ‘shave’ as teeny tiny piece of beach and round the corner of the parcel I lived on and in the process removed two thirds of my neighbours land. Ok, so his fault for having edit terrain on…but still…I thought I was being gentle and careful when really I was causing meteor-like craters in the land mass.
Fortunately another of my besties is a dab hand with it and so this last week the wonderfully talented Sadystika Sabretooth has been working her magic into the sim for us. I can’t wait for us to be able to show you more of her amazing work and I think we’re probably less than a week away now from being able to open the sim to the public. So before I move on to discuss the items for my look today here’s a sneak peek.
About the Stuff:
There is at least enough of it complete that I can start taking pics! Hooray!!! I’m starting to wonder if there is any nicer person on the planet than Paolla Flux of Reverie…she really is an absolute doll…you could say so sweet you could eat her all up….but I’m scared she’d tuck into me first (excuse the private pun….but don’t let her near you if she has a nice chianti in one hand and fava beans in the other). I digress, so Reverie has a new release at the new round of Kustom 9. The outfit, called Micha, somes with a top and jacket (linked not separate) and the cutest shorts. It’s made for both Slink fits – Hourglass and Physique as well as Maitreya Lara (worn). The tee shirt texture can be changed so you can mix and match the look and it comes in a soft metallic colour palette as well as good ole black!
