Paradise by the Poolside Lights

I’m not going to be writing a huge amount today.  As some of you know from previous posts my daughter was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease last year and hasn’t responded very well to the treatments she’s had so far. Today is surgery day…she’s having a section of her bowel removed. It’s a fairly common operation and the surgeon is fabulous but, even at 22, she’s still my baby and it’s the first time any of my children have undergone surgery. I’m a jittery Momma right now.

I pre-prepared this post yesterday.  I’ve been thinking for a long while about how to do more vlogging and recently did a short video to show the functionality of the Apple Fall Mercantile Bookshelf set. I asked the question of Wendz Tempest at the recent Blogger & Vlogger Network presentation on home and garden blogging and she suggested something that I had also run through my mind a while back…speed edits. It gave me the confidence to go ahead and give it a go! So, below here is the resulting video. The scene took about an hour to build, but that did include stopping for a skype call and taking out 20 minutes for a visit from one of my favourite designers who came by to see the work in progress.
