My friend Meri talked about politics on her blog yesterday…well in fact, she sort of apologised for talking about it but as someone who follows politics both my side, and the other side, of the pond, I found her post interesting and thought provoking. It made me feel a little guilty as ridiculing a particular politician and not thinking about what might be going on behind the scenes. I have told numerous ‘Diane Abbott can’t count’ jokes in the last few weeks, along with most of the rest of the country to be fair. But, it did make me think that I like to think that I live by the mantra that you should treat all people with kindness as you never know what battles they are facing.
So, today is the day we go to the polls in the UK (reminds Meri of the correct date), and as a traditionally ‘floating voter’ I find myself feeling totally disenfranchised this year. With just a few hours before I visit the polling station I am still undecided and I probably won’t make my mind up until I get into the booth with pencil and paper in hand. I know who I am not voting for. When I imagine Theresa May I see one of those fake psychics who over dramatically flip flops around in a chair, making lots of moaning and groaning noises, but not actually saying anything until she suddenly sits bolt upright for a few seconds to channel Nigel Farage…no thanks love. There’s a new axis of evil and to my mind it’s Theresa, Nigel and Paul Dacre (the editor of the Daily Mail).
Anyways, I am sure I will make up my mind soon…and until then I can amuse myself with Comey’s testimony and enjoy watching him having to talk about the Russian pee-pee videos!
About the Stuff:
The Vintage Fair opens in full on the 9th June and, having had the opportunity to visit the sims and check out many of the stores already, any lover of retro is not going to be disappointed. From the 1920’s to the 1990’s every era is represented with something for everyone.
It’s particularly good to see Elikatira back with two new hairstyles for the event…I’ve even gone bottle blonde to celebrate! My outfit is from Scandalize and this is a brand that I’ve been watching with interest over the last few months get better and better. They’ve completely made it to my ‘fit trust list’ as their rig, certainly on the Maitreya, which I wear most often, is always perfect! They have a two piece top and pants set that comes in fits for Belleza Freya, Isis and Venus, Maitreya Lara (worn) and Slink Original and Hourglass. There are 11 beautiful solid colours and one stripe pattern available and because it’s a two piece you can mix and match from those colours if you choose.
