It’s a long weekend coming up in the UK with a public holiday on Monday and I’ve got to say I’m really looking forward to it.
there are a few things you can guarantee about August Bank Holiday weekend and these are:
- The weather will be awful
- The roads will be at a standstill
- If you go out you will be stuck in a traffic jam – probably in the rain!
August bank holiday weekend conjures memories of eating fish and chips in the car with 2 kids who were miserable because they wanted to play on the beach but it’s pouring down with rain instead.
Now the kids are older, only one of them ‘lives’ at home (and I use the word lives loosely, it’s more somewhere she drops into occasionally and leaves some dirty washing). I don’t think it will be long before the other one moves out. That’s a life changing moment I’m not sure I’m ready to deal with yet to be honest.
