I’ve met several SL residents who have returned to the grid during the lockdown and I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that I hope many of them stay. Imagine logging into SL for the first time in years and saying ‘hey, what’s new?’ Depending on when they left it could be a very long list including mesh bodies, mesh heads, Bakes on Mesh, Bento, Premium membership perks, new last names, experience keys, EEP…the list is endless and actually reminds me of who much Linden Labs have improved SL for residents over the last few years.
So, I’ve been a little busy the last week or so, along with my business partner at Seraphim, Del, putting together a Pop-Up Event for SL Residents returning to Second Life. Welcome Back features a list of well-known creators selling previously released items at a minimum of 50%. Not gonna lie we were blown away by the response from creators and designers who wanted to take part in the event and the designer list is impressive. Also not gonna lie that I dropped a fair amount of L$ myself just during set up when the stores were coming in to rez!

In addition to the stores we wanted to provide a platform for places to go and ideas for things to do for returning and new residents. In the centre of the event are two small gardens with kiosks containing information on a mix of ‘experiences’ you can have in Second Life. There are clubs, galleries, roleplaying and games sims, clubs and more, so def worth checking out!
Welcome back is open from 22nd April til 6th May so there is plenty of time to come visit us and so many great items and ideas to check out!
