Bohemian Like You

I remember the first time I heard the word ‘bohemian’. Unlike most people of my age it wasn’t from the Queen song ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ it was my Dad describing my Aunt. My Dad had an Aunt who was almost around the same age as him. She was only a few years older than him and lived a very different lifestyle to the rest of the family. When we visited her house everything felt different. Her decor was, well….boho. She was a vegetarian she wore her hair half up, half down with big natural wood barrettes in it. There were books everywhere. On almost every surface. She was a nurse and she spoken slowly and softly which was the total opposite to my Grandmother, her sister, who talked ten to the dozen and loudly…always! I remember asking my Dad a question about my Aunt and her lifestyle and he said well “Aunt Teresa has always been a bit bohemian”. It didn’t really answer my question as at that age I also had no idea what bohemian meant.

As that boho, shabby chic style is one of my favourite casual looks in SL it often reminds me of my Aunt Teresa.
