Tea in the Sun

Good morning. I’ve been working in the office a couple of days a week as things get back to normal. The new normal, as people tend to refer to it as, will include homeworking I think for at least a year. Maybe we have a permanent new normal? There are so many benefits. Less people driving to work is better for the environment and less mileage expenses in some cases if driving to an alternate location. Finding the Holy Grail would have been easier than finding a staff parking space pre-pandemic.

Today is supposed to be one of my days in the office but I think I’m going to work from home for most of it and the reason is air conditioning. Or lack of it. Our office sucks sweaty donkey balls in the heat and the next two days are going to be hot apparently! The office will be crazy hot and stuffy by the time anyone gets in to open a window. There is no air conditioning and one fan. My work from home set up does get the sun until the afternoon, I have a very effective tower fan and can work far more comfortably. The flexibility to go in for a bit, then come home and work the rest of the day is one of the benefits of the change to how we work…as is being able to work in shorts and a tee-shirt instead of office wear! Being able to make an ice-cold drink on demand is another one.
