When I Saw Her Standing There…

Snapshot_008

I completely made the most of having my friend Joe come and pose for me for these pictures today (thank you Joe). I think I took something like 12 original raw shots and choosing which 3 to put into this post was incredibly tough because I loved all of them. The feature pic of the post though was a ‘no-brainer’ as they say. It was the last photo of the shoot and I have been trying to focus on something else when I sat back and looked at the screen and thought ‘oh hell, this angle really works!’ Well, it works as a photograph and I love that but as a blogger we’re often wanting to show specific items in the best possible way. For this particular shoot I was wanting to focus on the hair, dress and shoes…and the boat. I love the cute behind of the dress but the picture doesn’t do much to show the hair and shoes huh?

As a blogger I normally just post one picture to Flickr and a link saying there are more photographs on the blog. I know for some bloggers they get around this issue by including close ups of the items in focus inserts within the main picture and that works really well for getting all the items you want to show into one picture for Flickr purposes. I write about the items I blog and often, as you will know if you’re a regular reader, I write about all kinds of other thoughts, feelings and situations too so it’s important for me to ‘drive’ traffic to the blog to read and see the additional pictures and, of course, to see the credits and hopefully be inspired to go and purchase some of the items I’ve blogged.

Bloggers blog in many different styles and ways and there is no one right or wrong way but we’re all trying to enhance the SL community in some way or another. These points are going to be the subject of a discussion I am taking part in next week (24th)  at SL13B. You can read more about it at the SL Blogger Support website . Saffia Widdershins and I will be joined by Caitlin Tobias and Katya Valeska from SL Blogger Support as part of the Meet the Community programme of interviews.

I really do love this picture and want to say thank you again to Joe. Please check out his blog too for more info about him and his gorgeous photographs.

About the Stuff

It all starts with a boat! Jammin have produced the rowing boat featured in the photos for Summerfest and it comes in two versions, a bare word and a worn paint version, seats two avatars and looks great at the end of my Goose dock. My look for the photographs is primarily thanks to E-Clipse Designs at Tres Chic. The perfect summer dress with a broderie anglaise texture gives me that summer boho look like I would favour in real life as well as SL . The dress comes in 4 colours and in standard mesh sizes as well as Maitreya and both Slink sizes. Rowing boats are really not meant for heels so it was lucky that I had the new fri.day Cleo sandals, also new at Summerfest to add to the look. These are exclusive to Maitreya  and come in a range of soft earthy tones that you’ll be able to colour match to almost anything I’m sure.  Last, but definitely not least is the new mainstore release hair from  from Truth. It’s called Grecia and as Truth often does there’s a choice of options of how to wear this year included in the pack with two different fringe/bangs options.
