Getting in the Uber Spirit

There are a lot of stores looking for bloggers at the moment with several new advertisements for bloggers appearing on my timeline on facebook and in my flickr feed every day. I may even have applied for one or two but I think long and hard before I do. I really try very hard not to over commit myself in terms of blogging. I blog 5-6 times a week putting out around 20-25 posts per month and some weeks that’s a really tough ask still to meet commitments. I’m very wary now of stores that ask you to meet a percentage of items posted for example. If at the point you apply they are releasing a couple of items a month then what might seem very doable when you apply doesn’t feel comfortable if the designer ramps up their production to 10 or more items a month. I’ve seen this happen several times over the last year that I have been seriously blogging. Both blogger and designer need to take a step back at that point and review the situation. If, as a blogger, you can’t meet the obligations you signed up for you have a duty to explain that to the designer or their representative. Designers, in my opinion, should reconsider their rules as they expand so as to not lose possibly very good bloggers BUT this is totally their prerogative. If a designer wants to stick rigidly to a set of criteria, and most do, that’s why they have them then it’s not a bloggers place to argue with them. Yes, I encourage discussion and feedback between designers and bloggers but at the end of the day whatever the designer says goes. It’s their product and hard work and their decision is final. So, good luck everyone who is applying to the designers looking for bloggers right now but consider carefully if you can meet the commitments before applying to offer your service to them.

About the Stuff:

Uber opened yesterday and I was thinking bout what the word Uber means….the short definition is ‘a thing or person that is extremely good or outstanding’ and this round is sooooo living up to that name. I admit to going a little broke as I cammed about grabbing item after item!

I’d seen the boots early on so I was specifically on the lookout for an item that would work with them and of course I found way more than one! (More to come on that later in the week) The boots are made exclusively in a Maitreya fit and come in 6 colours from a neutral tone palette.

Truth has two new hairs released at Uber and I’m wearing Thea. It’s got a modern but a little bit late 70s/80’s Charlie’s Angels look to it and 2 sizes, with one of them being to fit a larger chest size.

I then stopped in at Minimal to grab some accessories to complete my look. As I’ve mentioned a few times I’m very happy in my summer boho looks so the Quan glasses are perfect and come in three different metals or a fatpack with all 3 included at the mainstore. Talking of glasses there was a gacha machine at the store with a pair of glasses I would probably sell my first born for and while I didn’t win them (yet!) I did get the ring you can see in the close up which is fitted for Maitreya fingers. The necklace is also at the mainstore from a previous round of The Mix.
