My sister and I are like chalk and cheese. There is a 7, almost 8, year age gap between us and the circumstances we were brought up in were very different. My parents were stricter with me and financially they were struggling which is part of why they waited 7 years before having another child. They made up for not being able to ‘treat’ me by pretty much giving my sister whatever she wanted. She was spoiled and now as adults I would say the key difference between us is our different senses of entitlement. This isn’t just about ‘things’ but the expectation of the behaviour of people. I’ve never felt like I deserved anything without working for it. She will also walk away from jobs, people, situations that aren’t going her way a lot easier than I. I probably stay in those situations a lot longer than I should….she packs up at the first sign of issues. When those career paths, job roles, relationships etc don’t work out she, in her mind, has never had any responsibility for it…it’s always someone elses fault. Am I any happier than her? I’m not sure, she seems quite content with her life full of expectation and want but it is something that I tend to watch out for in people. I’m pretty sure that most people don’t find people with a sense of entitlement and expectation particularly attractive..I know I don’t…yet there is so much of it around these days, and even more so in Second Life. I work hard for what I have and what I achieve and in my mind there is only one person responsible when things go well and only one person responsible when things go badly…me!
About the Stuff:
Well this part shouldn’t take long, as, after all, I’m not wearing very much today. The body chain I’m wearing is available at FaMESHed from Empyrean Forge and comes in two rigged fits for Slink Hourglass and Maitreya Lara (worn). It’s a uniquely intricate piece and the detailing on it borders on the item being called art rather than jewelry. There are 10 metal finishes and a generous 16 gemstone options so lots of opportunity to match with other items. I went for the gold and red so that I could also show off the headpiece I picked up at We Love Roleplay from Zenith which is, again, so beautifully detailed and textured. Links to the events are in the credits below.
