The Simple Life for me

It’s the weekend and for me it’s a rather special weekend. Today is my birthday…the one before yet another BIG ONE! Now, that would normally make it special enough but we’re a family full of celebration this weekend. Tonight we are going out to a party to celebrate the engagement of my niece and her husband-to-be. This event in itself gives me even more cause to feel a little old today as my niece at 18 months old was the flower girl at my wedding and now she’s on the verge of getting married herself! At the other extreme tomorrow I am going out for lunch with my family to celebrate my Grandmother’s 95th birthday.  So how can I feel old when I still have my Grandmother around…she has every right to feel old…her eldest grandaughter is a year away from turning 50!

So my day so far has been amazing. I was on SL when the clock struck midnight and celebrated with a few friends in IM’s and locally after my DJ set at Blithe. This morning I had an early start and I am typing this with my newly manicured and painted nails after being treated by the ‘mini-me’s’.  Between typing this I’m searching for a restaurant on Tripadvisor to go to for lunch. I feel a nap might be in order later if I am to make it through a party later tonight after a big lunch!
