I watched the film Adrift a couple of days ago and I really wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s not the sort of film I would normally watch and right up til the very end I had no idea it was was based on a true story. I bawled…a LOT. I won’t give too much away but there is a twist in the end that just multiplies the sadness you feel for the position of the lead characters by a 100. For me, the sign of a good film is when I am still thinking about it a few days later and I am thinking about it a lot!

I also became a little obsessed by a song from the soundtrack. Both the original and the cover version of the song I Hope That I Don’t Fall in Love with You are used in the score. The original is by Tom Waits and has always been a song that has touched me but the cover used in the film…gah I can’t stop singing and listening to it. I’ll put the YouTube link at the bottom of the post if you’d like to hear it. I’m no film buff but I really enjoyed the film and would definitely recommend it.
