Life in a Bauble

I tend to live my life in a bubble of sorts and it seems from time to time that my perception of myself is way off from other peoples perception of me. I’m not saying that’s always a bad thing as has been proved this week with random compliments while out shopping to being invited to exhibit some of my avatar photographs.

The latter was particularly bizarre as I really don’t consider myself a photographer. My editing skills are self taught using tutorials but mainly trial and error. When editing a pic I’m like the child on a very old commercial for a Fisher Price Activity Centre…’What happens if I press this? ‘What happens if I touch that?’. Eventually I’ll be happy, or more likely reasonably happy, with the result and off I go to post on Flickr, Facebook or to blog the item.

I’m not sure if it’s being a Brit or a throwback from a childhood where I felt like I could do nothing right, but I find it incredibly hard to “blow my own trumpet” because I don’t consider myself to be very good, or exceptional, at anything. I’d use very “middle of the road” words to describe myself…good, ok, average, nice, etc.

Compliments are something I find extremely hard to accept or believe but as I am looking back now over the last few weeks with the Avi Choice Award nominations, the being invited to blog (rather than applying), the art exhibition and some personal feedback I’ve had I’m kinda overwhelmed…in a good way. I’m very, very happy that people are enjoying what I’m doing and I’m looking forward to continuing to work hard to improve.

Of course, it’s so much easier to do amazing pictures when there so many great items to include in them. The bauble is a RARE Gacha item from anc at Tannenbaum. At only 25L$ per play this is a must ‘sink my L$ into it’ kinda gacha and Aki has been extremely generous with what’s included in each package with both poseable baubles and tree baubles included.

cinphul is coming up with so many goodies right now it’s hard to keep track! Imokon is really pulling out the stops for the festive season and my house is adorned with these beautiful wreaths.
